Attacks in Baghdad and a city in northern Iraq killed at least 41 people and wounded dozens more on Thursday, the worst violence since Iraq celebrated the withdrawal of American troops from cities and towns last month.

Just lovely! All those lives and all those billions of dollars completely wasted. This boondoggle was started just so it would look like something was being done. Was it too much to ask that they pull out as soon as they figured out the situation was FUBAR? Was it too much to hope that something constructive come out of the SNAFU? The Iraqis had a president killing them, then a foreign invader, now other Iraqis, is it too much to ask that they catch a break?
